Rate yourself

In sports betting, as in life in general, it is important to set a goal for yourself. If you do not have a specific goal in the game with the bookies, it can end for you. You can start betting every day, you can start betting big money to cover previous losses, you can start betting mindless bets, and all this can lead to not very pleasant consequences. So, it is worthwhile to think about something beforehand.

Think about how you want to play?

Determine your risk appetite, are you able to bet on big ratios (single or express trains), or prefer to add your capital a little bit at low ratios. Are you ready for a long-term game, bet on events that will not bring you a win on each bet, but when this win is received, it will block all previous losses at these bets (for example, catch or play against favorites)? The question is whether you have the patience to wait for this moment, or you may not have enough of it, and you change the strategy. Players who are not enough for a long-term game usually prefer low-risk bets on the favorites and often win, but little by little, so that sometimes the loss can “eat” all previous wins, and in the end you may end up in the red, as bookmakers always underestimate the odds on favorites, also because the latter always puts the majority of players.

Decide what you are playing for?

Many people make bets to watch a football match or other sports event on TV with great interest, and that's fine. They don’t care if they win or lose. For them, this is a form of entertainment, so these people do not make bets. The opposite of them is professional players who play with the goal of winning money at the stakes, and big money. But what happens if a person who plays for fun, starts to win? True, he will immediately begin to increase the size of the bets, as he begins to think that he is lucky or smart, he begins to bet larger amounts than before, until the money runs out. It is peculiar to people. It seems that for unknown reasons we always want to lose the money won. When we win, we do not stop and do not say to ourselves: "That's enough." No, we are increasing momentum and we start to lose. And when we go beyond, we no longer notice this, because now we are trying to win back what we lost. And everything starts to fall. If you won $ 500 with $ 100, this is a good profit. Instead of picking it up, you are gaining momentum, and you end up with $ 300. You still have a profit of 400% of the original pot, but you feel that the balance of $ 300 after losing is not the same as income of $ 300 after winning, and continue to play, instead of taking the remaining $ 200 of your legitimate profit. And most likely you will lose them all before you realize it. This is quite harmful to you, but this can be avoided if you have at least a small of self-organization. Set yourself a goal, and each time you reach it, take the profit and continue to play from the initial amount. For example, with $ 1,000, set a goal to increase this amount to $ 1,500. Having reached it, take $ 500 and continue the game from the original $ 1000. So you will see the results of your labor in cash, and not in the virtual money in your account on the site of the bookmaker office. Even if you are confident in the profitability of your game and want to increase the size of the bank, do not invest all the winnings in it - still remove at least part of it. When you win, do not feel invincible and do not dramatically increase your bets. Continue to bet as much as before, and remember that even if winning is easy for you, it’s much easier to lose everything that you won. Of course, if you started the game, you need to use it, but do not forget that it is very easy to lose control of the situation.

When you lose, do not force yourself to do unreasonable actions (seriously increase the stakes, drastically change the strategy, bet on more matches, etc.). If your strategy worked before, it will work and again, the main thing is to keep calm and patience. When you fall into the bad luck bar, you need to maintain exposure. It may even be worth taking a break and refraining from betting for a few weeks to return with fresh thoughts and energy.

Do you have time to gather information about the participants of the match, or are you betting to make it more interesting to watch it? Estimate how much time you are able to spend on your hobby, and decide. And in general, are you interested in sports, or are you betting because of the opportunity to make a profit? If you like sports, it is easier for you to stay abreast of the latest developments, which gives you more advantages over bookmakers. If it seems to you that this becomes boring and uninteresting, then it is time to finish. Do not bet for the sake of the bets themselves. When motivation is lost, most likely it will end up losing patience and interest, and in the end all the money.
